Elizabeth Harrin: Well I’m here in the beautiful grounds of Middlesex University at the National Centre for Project Management because there is an event tonight hosted by Gower Publishing. And one of the editors for Gower is Professor Darren Dalcher who works at the National Centre for Project Management. And it’s going to be an evening full of the academia of project management. Professor Elaine Harris was on the bus that I saw just coming in. And we’ve got Dr. Penny Pullan hopefully coming this evening as well. We’ve got Dr. David Hillson, the Risk Doctor. They’re just some of the huge project management brains that are going to be in this event tonight. And there’s me and I’ve been wearing this green cardigan all day and I’m covered in fluff which is going to be a great way to make a first impression.

3 hours later…

Well, I’ve just left the National Centre for Project Management after the evening event. I wasn’t allowed to video the speeches but I took plenty of notes so I’ve got lots of things to write about in a bit more detail. But as a general overview, it was a really, really interesting evening. And I don’t know why I’m sounding so surprised when I say that because I was going to an event with authors published by Gower in a series edited by Darren Dalcher at the National Centre for Project Management in the beautiful grounds of Middlesex University. What could possibly have not been perfect about it? It was like the biggest project management brains in the country all in one room. And it was really interesting.

The first presentation was by David Hillson, the Risk Doctor. If you haven’t come across him before, you should look him up. He was really engaging and it was really entertaining as well. And I think that noise is my train so I’m just going to go head off home.
