Sweet list here Elizabeth and I agree very much with you especially on tip #3.
I work with teams spread across the so many time zones and to make sure we are effective, as possible, we :
    1) do our best to have an agenda sent as early as possible or at least 30mn before the virtual meeting starts.
    2) do a pre-meeting check-in as possible using an alternative virtual meeting tool because tools like WebEx you mentioned, though very good, their links only open at the time scheduled and to ensure participants who may not be familiar with WebEx are ready.

    Hi Elizabeth – great video!

Your 3rd point really resonates with me. Participants scambling to get software for a virtual meeting installed 5 minutes before the session is scheduled to begin virtually guarantees they won’t be ready in time. Preparation is key! : )

Gah, I hate it when that happens! We used to convene a call the day before when I had virtual meetings for about 30 participants all round the world for online training. That was their time to work out how to use it and check it was all installed, so the real call went smoothly.
